Orion 08660 Newtonian Visual Centering Device for Astrophotography (Black)
Thanks to its visual centering capabilities and compatibility with Newtonian reflectors, the Orion Newtonian Visual Centering Device for Astrophotography is a must-have accessory for anyone who uses a reflector telescope when capturing astro photos of the Moon and planets. Until now, anyone who used a Newtonian reflector telescope for solar system astrophotography had to resort to the inefficient and frustrating task of taking multiple exposures to confirm whether or not a target object was centered and framed in a desirable manner. Now, with the low-profile Orion Visual Centering Device for Astrophotography, hobbyists who prefer to use reflector telescopes can enjoy the same level of convenience and efficiency that a flip-mirror would provide. The Orion Newtonian Visual Centering Device for Astrophotography features a small, insert able pick-off prism which diverts a small section of the light cone collected by a reflector telescope into a built-in eyepiece so you can visually frame and center your target solar system object easily. The device is compatible with 1.25 inch eyepieces and can be attached directly to most video, CCD, or CMOS astrophotography cameras thanks to its threaded body and included threaded adapter ring. The device requires just 41mm (1.61 inch) of back-focus, and is crafted from finely machined and anodized aluminum. The device weighs just 7.2 ounces (0.45 lbs.) so you can enjoy efficient centering while keeping your imaging train nice and light.
