Original Movie Prop - Cats & Dogs - SFX Bloodhound Buddy Puppet

This is a SFX Buddy the dog puppet created from production of the 2001 action-comedy film, Cats & Dogs. The puppet was crafted to replicate Brody family's pet bloodhound, Buddy, and was used throughout the beginning of the film as Buddy runs into some trouble chasing an evil neighborhood cat. This piece is crafted out of a combination of foam latex and foam. The puppet displays the same features as the real-life bloodhound, including the same thick tan fur, full set of pointy teeth and long, panting tongue. The puppet also features three puppeteering sections, including the head and each individual leg. Inside the base of the torso is an array of wires and puppetry servos which moved different parts of the head including the face, mouth and ears during filming. Please note the mechanisms have not been tested. Additionally, attached to each leg is a metal control stick. The control sticks were once used to control the dog's leg movements by puppeteers during filming. Due to production use and age this item displays areas of wear; one of the ears is missing and the other has become detached. Also, the foam latex around the face has become dry and fragile (see photos) but overall this item remains in fair condition. Measures approximately 24" x 24" (61cm x 61cm.)
