Organic Black Tea From India, Wild Tea #9 Premium Loose Leaf Tea Black Tea (1 ounce)

There's something about black tea that's easy to fall in love it. And it's hard to pinpoint... kinda like those of us rare individuals that love black coffee (like we really do at WF HQ). Twilight Black is like this: you drink it, and while it is strong and sometimes a bit bitter if you steep it a tad longer than you should, you are captivated and trying to figure out why. Twilight Black has a unique taste, and mouthfeel, and it's own unique way, it keeps you coming back for more.

Wild Tea #9, our newest addition to the Wild Tea line, is the result of testing dozens of black teas from around the world. We decided on this unique, yet surprisingly straight forward, simple whole leaf black tea from India. It is not bitter like most black teas can be.

Twilight Black is great hot or iced. Add a dash of lemon and/or honey and you have a potent beverage full of intense flavors and bold complexity.

Most people don't know this, but black tea comes from the same plant as green tea--Camellia sinensis. The way black tea is made is it is rolled, withered and fermented. Finally, after this the tea is then fired to create the complex body and strong flavor that is only found in black tea.

A cool black tea fact is since it is known to keep its flavor for years, and also due to the fact that green tea loses its flavor after only a year or so, black tea has historically been an article of trade. Compressed bricks of black tea have even been used as de facto currency in Mongolia, Tibet and Siberia well into the 19th century.

Black tea accounts for over 85% of all tea sold in the west.

To brew Twilight Black #9:Bring water to 195 degrees and add 1.5 tsp leaves per 8oz of water. Steep for 3-4 minutes. Caffeine content is 47mg per 8oz cup
