Alloy 304 Stainless steel is a non-magnetic, chrome-nickel alloy, that is one of the most commonly used stainless steels. It offers good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, as well as resistance to industrial atmospheres and chemicals. It can be easily formed and welded by common methods.

The 2B finish is annealed and is a bright cold rolled finish, with a dull semi-reflective finish. The 2B finish sheets are a general purpose "Mill" finish and do not have a protective coating on either side. The 2B finish shows finger prints and scuffs much more easily than the other finishes. It is commonly used for general stainless steel sheet applications where cosmetics are less important. Some minor cosmetic imperfections can be expected due to handling, shearing, storgae of the material. For cosmetic applications consider using #3 or #4 brushed finish which are most commonly found on kitchen appliances and resist showing fingerprints and surface imperfections.
