One Last Christmas Carol: The Saga of Scrooge Continues
Ebenezer Scrooge has become a frail, old man, but he remains an extremely generous businessman and good friend to all as a result of his life-altering encounter with the Christmas Spirits eighteen years earlier. Fred Walker (Scrooge's gregarious nephew and partner) is raising his lovely young family in the city of London. Tim Cratchit (Scrooge's meek, but intelligent clerk) is secretly falling in love with an enchanting, young woman named Sarah, whose past is quite mysterious. All seems to be idyllic in the Victorian lives of the three gentlemen and the young woman... but all is not as it seems. A suspicious string of horrendous crimes thrusts these heroes down unexpected paths that intertwine to create a gem of an adventure with many twists and turns. One hero is wrongfully thrown into prison; the others are forced to seek refuge in a makeshift tent within the snow-laden countryside. Befriending a young pauper, they make their way back to the perilous railroad tunnels beneath the streets of London. This leads them to a Christmas time encounter with one of London's most dangerous criminals, forcing them to carry out acts that they never dreamed possible as they try to solve the mystery of the crimes. Throughout their escapade, benevolent Spirits watch over the heroes and even attempt to guide them at times. This is a story about greed, betrayal, murder, poverty, desperation, and ghosts. This is also a story about survival, redemption, hope, charity, love, and human kindness. This is a story that paints a vivid picture of the struggles endured by many heart-warming and intriguing characters living on the "wrong side of the tracks." But, ultimately, this is a charming story about the all-powerful, joy-filled Spirit of Christmas.
