Offshore Telecommuting: How To Avoid Taxes and Live and Work Offshore

Telecommuting is one of the hot topics at the moment. You've probably read of people sitting on a beach in the Caribbean working from their laptop, or sitting on board their boat moored in Cyprus and working from their mobile phone? Well if you have, this shows you the possibilities that telecommuting can offer you. In short we're talking a complete change in lifestyle for most people.

This guide will show you exactly how you could be doing this. We'll be looking at issues such as:

  • The best countries to relocate to
  • The tax consequences
  • How to set up your offshore structure
  • Equipment you'll need
  • Banking and currency issues

  • There's a tendency to focus on the massive lifestyle benefits that telecommuting offers (particularly overseas telecommuting), but another key reason why offshore telecommuting is attractive is the potential for you to increase your wealth.

One of the main ways that moving and working from overseas can help you to keep more of your hard earned cash is the possible tax savings you can get access to.

Whenever anyone leaves their country of residence (i.e. becomes non resident) there will be tax implications, and usually they will be able to reduce or eliminate taxes completely in their previous 'home' country.

'Telecommuting' is a term that is bandied about frequently, however it can actually include a lot of different situations. Essentially it is anyone who performs services remotely or away from the place of employment.

At it's most basic level it will therefore include employees working from home, possibly for one or two days a week, rising to executives working overseas and entrepreneurs locating themselves in a tax haven to telecommute full time.

What is included in this book?

In this book we look at:

  • Employee telecommuting
  • Offshore independent workers
  • Use of technology
  • Immigration & visas
  • Getting paid
  • Using a company or corporation for telecommuting
  • Protecting your assets as a teleworker
  • How to avoid having a taxable presence in another country
  • Best countries to telecommute from
  • Telecommuting opportunities
