Not Handsome Enough
Have you ever wondered what Mr. Darcy was thinking when he stood stoic and aloof during Pride and Prejudice?
Ayr Bray answers your musings with her short story, Not Handsome Enough.
Not Handsome Enough begins at the Meryton Assembly where Mr. Darcy slights Miss Elizabeth Bennet and concludes a week later at Lucas Lodge.
Moments after Fitzwilliam Darcy slights Elizabeth Bennet at the Meryton Assembly she commences telling the story to all in attendance. Forced to retreat to the quiet and solitude of the streets outside he admits to himself that she was the unfortunate woman who his comments were directed at, however, any woman who had been sitting there would have received the same treatment. In reality, it was not her he was avoiding dancing with, but dancing in general.
A week passes and while sitting at Richard’s Bookshop in Meryton he observes Miss Elizabeth Bennet and experiences his first day-dream about her. That evening, while attending a party at the Lucas Lodge, he is desperate to remember his dream but no matter how hard he tries, he cannot recall the details. Desperate to experience it again and swept away by her fine eyes and pretty face he releases control and experiences the most sensual and erotic dream.
At its conclusion Mr. Darcy will do almost anything to speak to the love of his life.
“I imagine that this is EXACTLY what Mr. Darcy was thinking during the original Pride and Prejudice. Such FERVID thoughts certainly suits the gentleman."
“Not Handsome Enough will take you on a sensual journey with Mr. Darcy as he discovers that Miss Elizabeth Bennet is certainly handsome enough to tempt him. And tempt him she does, time and time again.â€
“Ayr Bray leaves nothing to the imagination in this erotic and sensual journey of Pride and Prejudice’s favorite couple, Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet. More Please!â€
