Fifty lbs of Fatwood Fire Starters is the largest size offered by New River Firewood. No need to worry about running out of fatwood half way through the winter during a big snowstorm. With your free burlap bag you can easily carry a 6-7 lbs of fatwood fire starters where ever you need them. You can use fatwood fire starters in the fireplace, outdoor grill, outdoor fire pit or on your next camping or hiking trip. The burlap bag is 12" x 14" in size with drawstrings to close the bag. It will hold between 6 and 7 lbs. This is a great item to go with 50 lbs of Fatwood so you can keep your needed amount readily available. Please see additional picture of box above. Fatwood is an 100% natural fire starter. It is the by-product collected from the stumps of non-endangered pine trees that have been harvested for lumber. Fatwood is cut from forests which maintain sustainable yield forestry practices. Fatwood has no chemicals or additives. There is a large amount of resin in fatwood, so it only takes 2 or 3 sticks to get your fire started. 3 Steps to start your fire Step one: Place 2 Fatwood sticks crisscrossed on a fire grate or flat surface, so that the flames will move up the sticks. Step two: Place seasoned split firewood on the top of the Fatwood sticks, leaving room between for airflow. Step three: Light the lower end of both fatwood sticks. Be sure to replace screen in front of the fireplace. Note: To start a charcoal fire, fire pit or chiminea; repeat step two using charcoal briquettes, firewood, or wood pellets placed on a level surface.
