Narcisso Speculando
There is a great deal of evidence about the ecclesiastical and diplomatic career of fifteenth-century Florentine abbot Paolo da Firenze. However, less is known about his musical career, in which he produced some of the most innovative and virtuosic compositions of the period. In them, apparently innocent bucolic or mythological texts conceal philosophical intrigues, political ideas and moral precepts. This 2002 release featuring the ensemble Mala Punica is now available at mid-price.
