My Journey With Melanoma
Imagine being told you have stage IV Metastic Melanoma. A colossal hole opens up and swallows your spirit. You stop breathing, and then realize that something bigger than a lack of oxygen may take your life. The Grim Reaper has knocked. In the falll of 2010, I recieved this diagnosis. I began the unimaginable journey of fighting cancer. This experience was truly the most frightening and terrifying event to live through. I felt compelled to write my story and to share it with people in order to give others HOPE. Cancer feels hopeless adn I poured my heart out as I wrote this story in about a week. I channeled my inner Lance Armstrong, adn knew sharing my story could be how I help others with a similar diagnosis. My story is real. I shared about how I feel the cancer "got me" and how it was to experience the most brutal chemotherapy treatment that exists, biochemotherapy. I share how it is has been to recover. By all stats, I should be dead, but I am not. I hope anyone diagnosed with cancer can be ispired to SURVIVE!
