Music for Kathak Practice: Theka and Lahara in Tintal
This two-CD set contains repetitive melodies or lahara (a.k.a. nagma) and basic rhythmic accompaniment (theka) of traditional Indian instruments playing traditional Indian accompaniment pattern for the kathak dance. It serves the same function for the dance student as a metronome, but is far more pleasant. Furthermore, the student becomes familiar with the concepts of lahara and theka. There are 10 tracks, each in a different tempo.
