Mother of Vinegar Culture (Red Wine), 8oz (237mL)
Make vinegar at home with this living Mother of Vinegar culture. A vinegar 'Mother' appears as a spongey, jelly-like mass of vinegar-producing bacteria which is added to beer, wine, cider or other alcohol base and allowed to convert to vinegar. With a healthy culture, you can make an unlimited amount of vinegar in a variety of styles, strengths and flavors. Each sealed jar contains 8oz of vinegar and a piece of the live vinegar mother which can be grown and divided into smaller mothers to make an ever-producing amount of vinegar.
Instructions: In a clean 1 gallon jar, combine 16oz wine, 8oz water and the contents of the jar. Cover with a loose mesh cloth to allow air transference and store at 70F for 3 to 6 months for complete conversion. Any flavor of beer or wine can be used. Best results obtained with unsulfited wines.
