Mitutoyo 64PKA095 QM-Height Gauge Package with 518-223 Absolute Digital Height Gauge and 06AEG180JA AC Adapter, 0-24"/0-600mm Range, 0.005mm Resolution

The Mitutoyo 64PKA095 QM height gauge package has 518-223 Absolute digital height gauge with a measurement range of 0 to 12" (350mm), a selectable resolution, a high-contrast LCD readout in inches or metric, a hand-operated feed wheel, an electrostatic capacitance linear encoder, and statistical process control (SPC) output. A large, hand-operated feed wheel raises and lowers the slider for smooth, even travel, and is selectable for coarse or fine feed. A removable auxiliary grip ensures smooth movement of the gauge across the surface measuring plate. The gauge has a backlit, graphic LCD that clearly displays readings, and a keypad that provides statistical functions for data analysis. The LCD backlight changes to red or green, according to the result of tolerance judgment. Measurements include height, width, inside and outside diameter (ID/OD), flatness, step, pitch, minimum, maximum, and displacement. Selectable resolution provides precision to 0.00005", 0.0001", and 0.0002" or 0.001mm and 0.005mm with an accuracy of + or - 0.00011+0.0002L/40" (+ or - 2.8+5L/1000ÃŽm) at 20 degrees C, where L is the range travelled from the base position in inches (mm). An electrostatic capacitance linear encoder prevents overspeed errors to ensure reliable, precise measurement. A nine-point store and recall capability allows functions to be combined for quick measurement of more complex dimensions, such as circle-circle pitch and circle-point. The 5mm diameter eccentric electronic touch-signal probe supports precise digital measurement with triggering in both up and down directions.

Output ports transmit results to a Mitutoyo miniprocessor or a computer through an interface cable (not included) for SPC, or through an alternate RS232 port. The gauge is powered by four 1.5V LR6 AA batteries or an AC adapter (both included). Battery power provides approximately 800 hours of normal use when the LCD backlight is not used, approximately 260 hours of use when the backlight is used in the power saving mode, or approximately 6 hours when the backlight is used in the full-time power-on mode. The gauge has a working environment temperature of 50 to 86 degrees F (10 to 30 degrees C) with a condensation-free, humidity range of 20 to 80%. Storage and transport temperature is 14 to 122 degrees F (-10 to 50 degrees C) with a condensation-free, humidity range of 5 to 90%. The satin chrome finish on the scales resists rust and is glare-free.

H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right.

Height gauges, sometimes referred to as gages, are precision measuring instruments that travel on a vertical column (also called the beam) to measure and/or mark the vertical distance from the base of an object in fine units. The vertical position of the gauge and its attached pointer are changed by turning a calibrated screw, or one or more feed wheels. Recorded rotations are read from a scale, a dial, counters, and/or an electronic display. A screw clamp holds the pointer to the gauge. The pointer is typically sharpened to act as a scriber, and can be used to mark a position on a workpiece by scratching its surface. On compatible units, the scriber may be replaced by an electronic touch-signal probe. Height gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering.

Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. The company, founded in Tokyo in 1934, formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963 with headquarters in Aurora, IL.
