Mitutoyo 571-200MOT-10 Tire Thread LCD Depth Gauge, 0-1"/0-25.4mm Range, 0.0005"/0.01mm Graduation, +/-0.0005" Accuracy
The Mitutoyo Series 571, 700 Tire Tread LCD Depth Gauges, Inch/Metric, depending on the model, has a range of 0 to 1" (0 to 25.4mm), a resolution (or smallest graduation interval) of either 0.0005" (0.01mm) with + or 0.0005" of accuracy, or 0.001" (0.1mm) with + or - 0.008" of accuracy. The LCD interface displays in both inches and metric. The gauges in this series are designed specifically to measure tire tread groove depth. The 571 models keep track of the origin point, once set, for the life of the battery (about 2 years) for accuracy. The display has origin-set (Series 571-only), zero, and SPC data output (Series 571-only) functions for the users' convenience. The gauges in Series 700 are made of plastic so that they are lightweight to use. The gauges conform to European Conformity (CE) marking.. The gauges in this series include an SR44 battery. Optional SPC cables and an LCD with data hold are sold separately for Series 571 models. Depth gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering.
Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. These gauges often take the form of sliders that travel on a measuring beam or rods, are moved to position by hand, and then adjusted with a calibrated screw. The base of the gauge rests at the top of the shape whose recession is to be measured, while the beam or rods extend to the bottom of the recession to determine the measurement. Gauge position is read from a graduated scale, dial, counters, or an electronic display.
Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. The company, founded in Tokyo in 1934, formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963 with headquarters in Aurora, IL.
