Mitutoyo 570-314, HDS Digimatic Height Gage, 24" X .0005"/0.01mm, With Output

The Mitutoyo 570-314 LCD Absolute Digimatic height gauge displays a metric measurement range of 0” - 24"/0 - 600 mm, an LCD digital readout precise to 0.0005”/0.01 mm, with + or - 0.002”/0.05 mm of accuracy, and data output to transmit results to a Mitutoyo miniprocessor or computer for statistical process control (SPC).

This height gauge has an electronic microprocessor providing the ability to preset a reference height at any position, as well as to set a temporary zero position and return to a true zero reading. The output port transmits results to a Mitutoyo miniprocessor or computer through an interface cable (not included) for statistical process control (SPC). The gauge has a plug to receive input from an electronic touch probe (not included) for efficient digital measurement. An electrostatic capacitance linear encoder helps prevent overspeed errors to help ensure repeatable, precise measurement. A hand-operated feed wheel raises and lowers the gauge on the beam for measurement ease, and a clamp lever allows the user to hold measurement position. The scriber, used to mark a position on a workpiece, is 30 mm x 60 mm (H x W), carbide-tipped to help prolong life, and is held to the gauge by a screw clamp for fastening ease. The grip-base helps hold the unit in position by hand. The height gauge weighs 14.11 lbs/6.4 kg. The unit comes with an SR44 battery. Battery life: Approx. 20000 hours under normal use.

Height gauges, also called gages, are precision measuring instruments that travel on a vertical column (also called the beam) to measure and/or mark the vertical distance from the base of an object in fine units. The vertical position of the gauge and its attached pointer are changed by turning a calibrated screw, or one or more feed wheels. Recorded rotations are read from a scale, a dial, counters, and/or an electronic display. A screw clamp holds the pointer to the gauge. The pointer is typically sharpened to act as a scriber, and can be used to mark position on a workpiece by scratching its surface. On compatible units, the scriber may be replaced by an electronic touch-signal probe. Height gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering.

Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.
