In late 1999, after a 20 year career marked by numerous awards including 11 Grammy nominations, 2 Grammy wins & a busy touring schedule that took us around the world, we decided to finance & produce a recording ourselves. We celebrate this new venture & our 20 year anniversary with the release of Mint Jam, 2 Disc CD Set. This double CD set, recorded live at The Mint in Los Angeles on July 24 & 25, 2001, includes 8 new compositions plus 4 reworked Yellowackets classics. Haslip This is another "groove" oriented tune, this time with a stronger "funk" component. Motet, R. Ferrante & J. Haslip A R&B-gospel genre tune featuring an inspired bass solo by Jimmy Haslip. Mofongo, B. Minzter Featuring the EWI, the electric wind instrument, this energetic Latin derived tune was named after the spicy Cuban dish of the same name. Blues for KJ, R. Ferrante A tribute to the influence of Keith Jarrett's playing and writing on the band. Runferyerlife, B.
