Milwaukee MI 180-US pH/ORP/EC/TDS/NaCl/Temperature Laboratory Bench Meter

The Milwaukee Mi180 benchtop meter displays pH, ORP, EC, TDS, or NaCl with temperature on a large, easy-to-read display for a range of advanced laboratory testing applications. The stability indicator prompts the user when the reading is stable. Total dissolved solids (TDS) factors can be selected from 0.40 to 0.80, as well as a range of temperature coefficients from 0.0 to 6.00%/degrees C for increased consistency and reproducibility of TDS and electrical conductivity (EC) readings. The extended temperature range is -20.0 to 120 degrees C (-4 to 248 degrees F). Choose from Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), Manual Temperature Compensation (MTC), or No Temperature Compensation (NOTC). All measurements can be temperature compensated at 20 or 25 degrees C.

Prompts on the meter guide the user through the calibration process for accuracy and ease of use. pH calibration is available at three points, with seven memorized buffers (pH 1.68, 4.01, 6.86, 7.01, 9.18, 10.01, and 12.45) to provide an accurate calibration curve, even when samples have wide differences in pH. A user-selectable alarm can be set to alert the user when pH calibration is past due. Six memorized buffer sets are available for conductivity calibration. For measuring actual conductivity, temperature compensation can be disabled. Salinity calibration is one point (with calibration solution). Temperature calibration is two points at 0 and 50 degrees C (32 and 122 degrees F). Data from the last calibration performed for pH, conductivity, or salinity can be recalled and viewed.

Accessories included with the Mi180 benchtop meter are a pH electrode, an EC/TDS/NaCl/temperature probe, a separate temperature probe, electrode holder, pH calibration solutions, 12880 μS/cm calibration solution, 1413 μS/cm calibration solution, and one electrode cleaning solution sachet.

A multiparameter meter is a benchtop or handheld device that can take multiple readings on a single sample. It measures parameters such as the pH level (acidity or alkalinity of a substance), conductivity (the amount of salts or other compounds present in water), dissolved oxygen (DO, the amount of oxygen in a liquid), temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS, anything present in water other than the pure water molecule and suspended solids), salinity, resistivity, and oxidation reduction potential (ORP). Applications for multiparameter meters include water testing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, winemaking, water-treatment plants, and acquaculture. Devices with a benchtop body are often used for indoor laboratory use or in a manufacturing setting; handheld, portable devices are typically used for fieldwork. Sensors are used with a meter to measure the parameters of a substance.

Milwaukee Instruments manufactures electrochemical equipment and solutions for water analysis under the Milwaukee and Martini brands. The company, founded in 1989, is headquartered in Rocky Mount, NC.
