With the advent of universal hypodermic medication with antitoxins, vaccines, serums, drugs in solution, and normal salt solution, it dawned upon me that water, the menstruum of all these agents, some of which are used in very small amounts with beneficial results, is possibly also deserving of some of the credit. I, therefore, determined to try out my theory, believing that if it does no good, it can do no harm. I soon found out that hypodermatic hydrotherapy may do a lot of good, and may also be harmful, and should therefore be used with caution as advocated, and only where and when indicated. Case 2.--Laryngitis Catarrhalis. October 1st, 1911, I was called to attend L. F.. 20 months old, and found him suffering from an acute catarrhal laryngitis. He had the characteristic brassy cough, high temperature, frequent pulse, and rapid but not labored breathing. He was restless, irritable, sleepless and always crying. I injected 10 c. c. HaO into the abdominal subcutaneous tissue, and his cough instantly lost its harshness. He became calm and comfortable. The following day found the cough mild, and in another two days the child was well. Besides the injection I treated the child in my usual way. In none of the cases do I abandon any rational treatment indicated. In my experience I have never witnessed such rapid relief of symptoms with any previous treatment in similar cases. Case 3.--Auto-intoxication. U. S., 7 years 11 months of age was brought to me by her mother and sister, October 12th, 1912. She complained of dizziness when walking or standing, or when riding in trolley cars. She was sent home from school on several occasions on account of the dizziness.
