Afzal Rahim earned his Ph.D. at the University of Pittsburgh. Currently he is a Distinguished Professor of Management, and a Hays Watkins Research Fellow at Western Kentucky University. In addition to his work in the classroom, Dr. Rahim serves as the editor of Current Topics in Management. He is the founder of the International Journal of Organization Analysis, the International Journal of Conflict Management, the International Association for Conflict Management, the International Conference on Advances in Management, and the International Conference on Social Intelligence. Dr. Rahim is extensively involved in publishing in the field, with over 117 credits to his name as an author or editor. He has also written book chapters, case studies, research instruments, and conference papers. His articles have appeared in the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Management, the Journal of Small Business Management, and Multivariate Behavioral Research. His current research interests are conflict management and the social and emotional intelligence of leaders.
