Master Xu, a descendent of bow makers, learned the art of bow making from a young age. From 1994, Master Xu threw all of his energy into carrying on the art, following the ancestral bow and arrow handwritten manuscript handed down through generations, the traditional bow and arrow's production technique was recovered. Through his efforts he obtained the renowned provincial and municipal innovation award, as well as honours and awards from cultural exhibitions.
2009: restored the ancient '10 big bows', manufactured 6 meter longbow 'open god bow', a set of 'the evolution of the bow and arrow through history' works achieve governments' high level appraisal, now kept in Henan province museum.
2010: formally invited to attend Malaysia's "Surname Zhang's first ancestor Hui Gong's bow and arrow" museum cultural ceremony. Additionally, made a set of 'the evolution of the bow and arrow through history' works for Malaysia.
2011: Invited to Shandong TV to participate in 'Sui-Tang Dynasty' TV show premiere, with various talented actors on the stage introducing traditional bow and arrow's cultural research results, showing for the first time on air our handmade 3 meter longbow.
