Liver Cirrhosis: A Life Unexpected

In order to be able to process the diagnosis of cirrhosis you need to first learn to understand the disease and what it means to you. I€m not sure what is more disturbing to me, the way I feel about this disease or the way others feel about this disease. It is the emotional fallout that develops with cirrhosis. It is an illness that comes with a stigma attached to it. Depending on how you handle your prognosis or who you choose to to tell about it can mean the difference on how you are treated. For those who judge, it is not the etiology of liver disease, but the severity of the disease that matters.
For those with cirrhosis our life is a score board of MELD numbers. While the journey of ultrasounds, CT scans, MRIs reads like a documented story that leaves our lives hanging in the balance.
