Live At Mister Kelly's is an extraordinary find: an unreleased live album by The First Lady of Song, recorded at the end of a long engagement at the famed Chicago nightclub. Backed by a sympathetic trio, Mister Kelly's is Ella at her most free, most swinging, most sublime. This rare treasure also presents two sets from that night: a standard show, and a rarely heard Ella anywhere on record a late set where she and her band improvise each moment. Ella is constantly interacting with the audience, improvising lyrics, charming everyone in the room. Live At Mister Kelly's was remastered from the original live remote recordings and, in addition to the stellar performances, preserves much of the relaxed stage patter that makes this unique release a rare glimpse into both the artistry and personality of our Ella.
