Lily's Story, A Bentley Sisters Novel
Lily left a private school to teach at an inner city high school, as she felt she could reach more children and make a greater impact on their lives. Two young boys, twins, seem to be teetering on the brink between right and wrong, as they try to break their ties with a local gang.
Tom is on the police force, but part of a special unit volunteering in the high school to try to create trust between law enforcement and the inner city youth. He is attracted to Lily from the start, but holds off, afraid to come on too strong. When she puts herself in danger trying to break up a street fight, he cannot be silent any longer. After ensuring that she is safe, he puts her over his knee for risking her life needlessly.
Lily respects the relationship her older sister Megan has with Luke, a dominant male who also believes in spanking. In fact, Luke and Tom seem to be cut from the same cloth. Yet, she hesitates to trust him, to give her life over to him, as she has always been independent. When another sister criticizes her for allowing Tom to make her decisions, she decides to make a stand... but did she make the right decision for her, after all?
