Most commonly used for safety breakaway lanyards. Tip: Cut an inch or two off of the 7 inner strands on 550 paracord to make the knot small enough to fit in the barrel. Can be used for ribbon lanyards too. The knot just needs to be small enough to get inside the barrel ends. Total length of the two pieces when snapped together is ~3/4 inch
