This new pad design features a special domed booster that exponentially increases the "X" performance in two ways. When the key is closed, this panel increases the tonal resonance by reflecting the vibrating air column away from the tone home and back into the bore of the saxophone. When the key is open, it directs the egressing air around the pad cup for quicker response.
