Kydex T is among the most rigid and durable plastic material available. This premium product is virgin grade A material, not a recycled or regrind version of Kydex. File, saw, rout, drill, bend and form Kydex T with standard workshop tools. This product is great for bending and heat-forming and is commonly used in auto/boat repairs, custom stereo systems, protective covers, brackets, mounts, and countless other applications. The A surface is finely textured and the underside is smooth. Thermoforming Tips
-Be aware that Kydex sheets behave differently during the thermoforming process than other types of plastic sheets like ABS. As a sheet heats, you may notice large waves in the material. The sheet will also begin to form small ripples. Eventually, the material should become smooth in appearance. The ideal time to form the sheet is about 10-30 seconds after the sheet becomes smooth.

-The ideal forming temperature for the 0.125" thickness is 385-400°F. This roughly corresponds to setting percentage times on top heaters 30-50% and 50-70% for bottom heaters.

-Specialized thermoforming equipment with two-sided or "sandwich" heating elements are ideal for heating Kydex. If you do not have thermoforming equipment, consider heating Kydex in a conventional oven, toaster, or toaster oven.

-For best results, heat Kydex sheets slowly. If the sheet blisters or smokes, it is being heated too quickly.
