This Koyo steel eccentric stud-type track roller bearing with lip seals handles moderate radial and shock loads in cam- and track-type applications. The non-separable track roller bearing, also called a cam follower, has a thick-walled outer ring that helps minimize deformation under heavy radial and shock loads. It has a stud-type mounting design for through-hole or threaded mounting, and an eccentric collar for adjusting the outer ring’s radial position against the running surface. This adjustment helps improve load distribution of inline bearing combinations. A hexagonal socket on the flange end provides greater tightening torque than a screwdriver slot and is useful for blind-hole installations. This track roller is made of bearing steel treated with black oxide for corrosion protection, and holds a full complement of needle rollers for a higher radial load-carrying capacity than caged rollers. Lip seals on both sides of the bearing retain grease applied at manufacture and help protect against contaminants, and internal thrust washers made of self-lubricating resin help reduce sliding friction. Depending on size, inch series track rollers with a hexagonal socket can be lubricated through the threaded end of the stud using a standard nominal inch drive-type grease lubrication fitting, through a cross-drilled hole in the shank, or through the hexagonal socket on the stud head. (Sizes 8-10.1 cannot be relubricated.) All stud-type track rollers come with lubrication fitting plugs for closing off unused holes.
