Kingdom Theology and Human Rights (Kingdom Theology Series)
This book is directed primarily at evangelical Christians, but will have a wider interest in general ecumenical Christian circles as well. Its primary aim is to challenge evangelical Christians to conceive of and live out the gospel in a manner that does justice to the full implications of the kingdom of God – the mission and message of Jesus. In today’s global context, issues of social justice and compassion for the poor and oppressed are conceived of and responded to within the framework of human rights. The reader will discover that these two frameworks, the kingdom and human rights, have a long history of interaction, and that the voice of the Judaeo-Christian faith has always been present, sometimes in pivotal ways. Relating the kingdom to human rights is the best way for thinking Christians to engage in the pressing global issues of our time.
