KEO Cutters High-Speed Steel Combined Drill & Countersink, Uncoated (Bright) Finish, Bell Style, 60-Degree Countersink, 1 mm Point Diameter x 4.0 mm Body Diameter, Metric
The KEO Cutters high-speed steel combined drill and countersink with uncoated (bright) finish has a bell style to create a center hole with a 60-degree countersink, is suitable for maintaining an accurate center hole in multi-step applications, and meets Deutsches Institut fr Normung (DIN) 333 specifications. The bell-style countersink includes a 118-degree chamfered section between the countersink and the material surface, providing clearance and reducing the possibility of damaging the center hole or countersink when exposed to multiple machining operations. The 120-degree conventional point drills a center hole to accurately guide a 118-degree secondary drill bit. The two spiral flutes clear chips away to prevent clogging. High-speed steel (HSS) provides hardness for wear resistance, and the uncoated finish has no additional surface treatment or coating. The tool is double-ended to provide two cutting ends. The round shank accommodates most drill chucks.
Combined drill and countersinks are fluted cutting tools that drill a shallow hole with a conical or gradually widened opening, also known as a countersink, into the surface of a workpiece. These tools, also called combined drill countersinks, drill-point countersinks or center drills, are commonly used to create center holes that act as a bearing surface for a machine center. Some types reduce the two-step process of creating a countersunk pilot hole into one.
KEO Cutters manufactures countersinks, combined drill countersinks, milling cutters, spotting drills and other cutting tools. The company, founded in 1941 and headquartered in Warren, MI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001:2008.
