Japanese Banko Ware Large Teapot
Banko Ware teapots mainly comprises from red soil.
It's a famous traditional handcraft that has 200 years of history and was designated as traditional craftwork by the Minister of International Trade and Industry in 1979.
The clay used for Banko tea pots contains many iron contents. Banko is baked with reduction furnace.
This method gives very limited oxygen into the kiln.
The iron and the tea tannin shows an chemical reaction and makes the tea mild.
The more you use it ,the more it brings out the taste of green tea.
