Wilson Phillips first struck multi-platinum success in 1990 with their soaring harmonies, sending three singles from their self-titled debut album, 'Hold On,' 'Release Me,' and 'You're in Love,' to the top of the Billboard charts. Two other songs from the album, 'Impulsive' and 'The Dream Is Still Alive,' peaked at Nos. 4 and 12, respectively.
The album's huge success earned a GRAMMY® nomination for Wilson Phillips' Carnie and Wendy Wilson (daughters of Brian Wilson) and Chynna Phillips (daughter of John and Michelle Phillips). Their sophomore album, 1992's Shadows & Light, also went platinum.
