I Would Have Searched Forever
Sandy Musser was sent out of town - away from her family and friends - back in the mid's 50's! What was her crime?? Being pregnant "out of wedlock". She was only 15 years old and very scared! Shunned by her peers and forced to leave school, her former friends could no longer associate with her. Since adoption was the only choice in those days, she was heartbroken when she wasn't even allowed to lay eyes on her precious baby after giving birth. Many years went by, but Sandy had never forgotten her first-born child. In 1976, she joined an adoption search and support group and made a concious decision to search for her. She said that God had opened the doors faster than she could walk through them! Her search was completed in a relatively short period of time. But it wasn't 'happily ever after' like she expected it to be. A book with emotional ups and downs. This was the first book to be written by a birthmother. I WOULD HAVE SEARCHED FOREVER is a touching story about lost innocence, the pain of losing a child, and the struggle of reconnecting. The last section of the book is about Adoption Reform in 2013 and the need for a Federal Mandate for an Adoptees Restoration Act by Executive Order.
