Hygiena MicroSnap Coliform Surface ATP Test Swab Biological Contamination Tests For Luminometers (25 Tests)
MicroSnap Coliform is a rapid test for detection and enumeration of Coliform bacteria. The test uses a novel bioluminogenic test reaction that generates light when enzymes that are characteristic of Coliform bacteria react with specialized substrates to produce light. The light generating signal is then quantified in the EnSURE luminometer. Results are available in 8 hours or less, depending upon required level of detection. Single figure organisms can be detected in 8 hours, enabling MicroSnap to give results in the same working day or shift. It can detect E. coli, Klebsiella, Citrobacter and Enterobacter. Results are available for enumeration within 6 hours and for presence/absence within 8 hours. As a bacterial indicator, coliform bacteria are most commonly used when establishing whether certain foods and/or water products are clean or safe for consumption. Coliform bacteria are found in soil, in aquatic environments, on vegetation and in human or animal feces. Coliforms will not normally cause serious illness themselves, but their presence typically indicates that other disease-causing organisms may be present. How Coliform Testing KitsWorks This test takes full advantage of the rapid and continued developments in bioluminescense by using novel reagent formulations in the MicroSnap Total Coliform testing device. This device contains a specialized substrate that reacts by emitting light upon detection of enzymes characteristic of coliform. The emitted light is measured in the EnSURE luminometer, expressed in RLUs (relative light units). It offers detection sensitivity for as few as 1-10 CFU. Used With Hygiena SystemSure Plus Luminometer and EnSURE Luminometer.
