Hydrofarm Daystar AC Metal Halide grow light systems emit mostly blue light. Plants use blue light for vegetative leaf growth and it prevents plants from stretching and elongating. Halides offer very little red light and do not fruit or flower plants effectively. Metal Super(MS) Halide lamps provide 15% more lumens than a standard halide; bulbs should be replaced every year of use.
