Hybrid Warfare and Transnational Threats (Perspectives for an Era of Persistent Conflict)
This volume explores key aspects of the emerging international security environment to inform debates about the future of U.S. defense strategy, the changing nature of warfare, and the evolution of American security policy at the start of the twenty-first century. Over twenty chapters provide interdisciplinary perspectives on U.S. national security affairs, focusing on key dimensions of what have been described as hybrid threats that increasingly involve transnational actors. Contributors include scholars and practitioners from a diverse range of disciplines, including active duty military officers, civilian defense strategists, foreign policy analysts, law enforcement officials, and intelligence professionals. In addition to traditional defense and foreign policy issues, our contributors address stability and security operations, conceptual shifts in how we analyze and respond to national security challenges, and the theological dynamics underlying the continuing conflict with a loosely connected network of violent Islamists
