Huco 279.48.35.Z Size 48 Varitork Miniature Friction Clutch, 6-Plate, Aluminum Body, Inch, 0.472" Bore A, 0.472" Bore B, 1.89" OD, 2.56" Length, 2655 in-lbs Max Torque
This Huco Vari-Tork 6-plate miniature friction clutch has an aluminum housing, adjuster ring, and adapters; a heat-treated steel hub for strength and durability; and sintered bronze bearings for durability and corrosion resistance. It has heat-treated steel and brass clutch plates for strength, durability, and corrosion resistance, and black-oiled alloy steel fasteners for strength and corrosion resistance. Friction clutches are for applications where rotation needs to be stopped and resumed when loads reach predetermined thresholds, and this model can be installed in-line or concentrically, depending on the application. Capable of supporting a surface temperature up to 176 degrees F (80 degrees C), this Huco Vari-Tork 6-plate miniature friction clutch can function as a torque limiter, tensioning device, or overrun device. This clutch is suitable for use in small drive applications where operating at an exceeded load poses a danger to personnel and equipment, such as in processing plants, manufacturing facilities, and factory floors, among others.
Flexible couplings are used to link two rotating shafts that are not aligned in order to transmit the rotational power, known as torque, from one shaft to the other. Most flexible couplings consist of two hubs and a middle assembly; each hub attaches to a shaft while the middle assembly flexes between the hubs to accommodate the misalignment of the two shafts. Shaft misalignments are generally either parallel or angular and cause complications to transmitting rotational power from one shaft to another in the form of stresses, loads, vibrations, and other forces, which vary from one type of misalignment to another. Flexible couplings are used in a broad range of applications, such as in motor vehicles, conveyors, escalators, agricultural, forestry and mining equipment, aeronautics, robotics and space exploration, among others.
Huco Dynatork manufactures couplings, piston air motors, brakes, clutches, gear boxes and other transmission products. The company, founded in 1965, meets the quality assurance standards of the British Standards Institution (BSI), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN), and is based in Hertfordshire, England.
