Troubleshooting steps: Due to the Lightning plug design, the electrical contacts are exposed and this can lead to oxidation (even with Apple-branded cables). This can obviously have an higher incidence when the cartridges are stocked for extended periods or with certain conditions and not used daily. An effective way to solve this maybe to use a microfiber cloth soaked with a small amount of alcohol and then rubbing vigorously on the connectors to remove any oxidation.
