The biggest fault with many cavessons you see for sale is that they have been poorly designed, and because of this, do not fit properly. A cavesson that doesn't fit well is more likely to shift and twist, and won't be very stable on the horse's head. If the cavesson does move about about while lunging, there is a serious risk of causing your horse an eye injury.

In order to prevent this risk, this beautifully crafted leather cavesson by Killucan Saddlers draws design inspiration from the old type German, French & English cavessons made by Master Saddlers. Most cheaper cavessons only have one throatlatch but this cavesson has two, eliminating any unwanted movement of the cavesson while lunging.

This cavesson is adjustable at 4 points ensuring a snug and secure fit. Cheaper nylon cavessons are just not as sturdy and won't stay in place regardless of how you adjust them.

Its noseband incorporates three solid heavy-duty steel D-rings which add to its overall weight. Many horses work better with a heavier cavesson, especially larger, spirited or rambunctious horses, the extra weight helps get them get to work and keep them focused.

Suitable for horses 16 hands to 17.3 hands high. Not suitable for Arabs or Thoroughbreds.
