Homemade Stain Remover: The Best Natural Stain Removal Technique Around
I used this method on a small carpet stain from red wine. I didn't have a lot of money to spend, so I decided to give it a shot. After one attempt, the stain was nearly gone. It was completely removed after a second attempt. I am extremely satisfied with this product. - Salim Saad (Reader)

What others are saying:
I admit it. I use a more expensive chemical product - and we're almost out. I came across this little report almost by accident, and am I glad I did! I honestly don't know if it works (I don't have a stain right now - and I'm not going to stain my carpet just to try it out), but it makes sense to me. It falls in the category of "inexpensive tips that nobody ever tells you." Now it's in my repertoire. The next time something spills (I have four boys... it won't take too long...), I think I'll give this a try - even though I do still have some chemical cleaner around. Then I can show everyone how to do it (one of my sons is a senior in high school - so he'll need to know this stuff....).
And I learned about steam mops. Years ago I had a large hardwood floor that needed care, and I did have rings on the floor from potted plants and some cups that somehow got left on the floor (mystery never solved... apparently this "nobody" character left them there every time). So now I know how I could have handled them. I wonder if steam mops existed back then?
So many environmentally friendly ways to do things are beginning to circulate. I like it. When I clean my first stain, I will consider myself ahead of the game. As soon as I don't need to buy another cleaner bottle, this little report actually saves me money! When I got this we're just coming in to holiday season... so you can bet I'll have a chance to try it out. - Scot Conway (Reader)
