Hioki HVAC PRO Professional Test Kit with Anemometer, Infrared Thermometer, Digital Multimeter, Clampmeter
The Hioki HVAC Pro test kit includes a digital multimeter, infrared thermometer, digital clamp meter, and anemometer for installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial and residential heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems. The kit comes with instructions and batteries for all components, one test lead set each for the multimeter and clamp meter, and a temperature probe for the anemometer. A hard plastic carrying case with foam cutouts stores and organizes the contents of the kit when not in use and has a latch for securing the lid during transport and storage.
The Hioki 3804-50 true RMS digital multimeter measures voltage, current, resistance, and capacitance. An audible continuity sensor confirms a circuit conducts electricity, and a diode test detects proper functioning of a circuit€s diodes. The meter can display the percent harmonic distortion (0 to 100%) for testing power lines. The LCD shows readings in digits and on a bar graph and is backlit for readability in low light. It records the present measurement, the average measurement, the highest or lowest reading in a session, or the difference between the highest and lowest readings in a session, for future recall. The relative mode stores a reading in memory to use as a zero point for subsequent readings so that multiple readings can be compared. The hold function keeps a reading on the LCD, even after the meter is disconnected. An RS-232 port on the meter provides connection to a computer for data transfer and remote operation (cable sold separately). A removable rubber holster helps protect the meter during transport and storage. It is a true RMS (root mean square) meter that provides accurate readings when measuring linear loads with an undistorted waveform, or nonlinear loads with a distorted waveform. When turned on, the meter is in auto-ranging mode and automatically selects the correct operating range for the property being measured. It can be switched to manual-ranging mode, which allows the operator to choose the appropriate operating range.
The Hioki 3280-10 digital clamp-on multimeter has a clamp with two jaws that can close around an electrical conductor up to 33mm (1.3 inches) in diameter to measure current without touching or interrupting the circuit. The meter comes with detachable test leads for measuring voltage and resistance and for testing continuity to confirm a circuit conducts electricity. The LCD shows readings in digits and on a bar graph and is backlit to provide readability in low light. The hold function keeps a reading on the display, even after the meter is disconnected. A finger guard on the body of the meter helps protect fingers from shock. The meter can survive falls of up to 1 meter to a hardwood or concrete floor. It is an average-sensing, or average-responding, meter that provides accurate readings when measuring linear loads with an undistorted waveform. When turned on, the meter is in auto-ranging mode and automatically selects the correct operating range for the property being measured. It can be switched to manual-ranging mode, which allows the operator to choose the appropriate operating range.
The Hioki 3419-20 infrared digital thermometer measures surface temperature at a distance for applications involving hard-to-reach, moving, hot, or electrified equipment. The thermometer has an 8:1 distance-to-spot ratio, which means the measurement field measures approximately 8 feet in diameter when the target is 1 foot away. A built-in laser pointer helps improve aiming accuracy when taking measurements, and it has an adjustable emissivity setting to help improve measurement accuracy on a range of surface types. The LCD shows present temperature and highest or lowest temperature reading for the session. The screen is backlit for visibility in low light. Readings can be stored in the thermometer's internal memory for future recall, and the user can set an alarm to sound when readings exceed or drop below preset limits.
The Hioki A004 hot-wire anemometer measures air velocity and temperature for checking the functioning of air-conditioning systems, measuring air flow inside ducts, and verifying the airflow rate of a ventilation system. The hot-wire sensor eliminates moving parts for consistent results. Air velocity is measured in meters per second (m/s) and feet per minute (ft/min). The included temperature probe measures temperature in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Multitesters (also called multimeters) are electrical test meters that measure multiple properties of an electrical circuit, such as current, voltage, resistance, capacitance, and continuity. Available in handheld or benchtop models, multitesters diagnose electrical problems in electrical equipment, wiring, and power supplies. A variety of probes, clamps, and leads can be used to connect the meter to a circuit or device. Multitesters display information either in analog or digital form. Factors that influence meter choice include the electrical properties to be measured, the anticipated range of results, and the desired level of protection against transient voltages. Safety ratings are based on the International Electrotechnical Commission's (IEC) standards for low-voltage test equipment. IEC 61010 delineates four overvoltage installation categories. In general, a meter with a category IV rating will provide more protection against transient voltages than a meter with a lower category rating.
