High Lubricity Thermal Barrier Tube for MK7/MK8 Extruder (M6 Threaded)
This premium thermal barrier tube is based on the highly proven MakerBot MK7/MK8 extruder design, and includes a crucial machining step that is missing from many generic substitute thermal barriers. Made from stainless steel on a high-precision Swiss-style lathe and then specially treated with an electroless nickel plating composite, this thermal barrier tube keeps the hotend thermally separated from the coldend. The improved lubricity of the composite plating treatment, plus the crucial machining step, improves the flow of filament in the liquid transition zone, and reduces the likelihood of filament jams that occur more frequently on poorly made thermal barrier tubes. This thermal barrier tube is M6 threaded, and is a direct substitute for fully threaded thermal barrier tubes like the ones found on the MakerBot Replicator 1 and 2. It is also compatible with the MakerBot ThingOMatic MK7 extruder. It is not compatible with the Replicator 2X or Gen5 machines, or with FlashForge/Wanhao/Dremel printers with MK10 hot ends.
