Q & A with the Author
Q - How would you describe this series?
A – It’s a dream – and a nightmare - come true. It starts as a cyber science fiction taking place in the near future, but it can also be a YA dystopian series. Every book can stand alone, but, of course, it’s better if you read them in order.
The series stretches out eons forward, following the evolution of the human race, to the stars and beyond. But we won’t evolve the way we did before. The series will be at least seven books long. I have so much to say about this awesome universe!
Q – “BEYOND†the stars?
A – Yes...
Q – So, is this a dystopian fiction? Or a utopian one?
A – I would say both. On the one hand, Earth slowly deteriorates toward chaos and destruction. It starts with slow, environmental destruction, but you can also see it culturally – the world is rushing headlong into a gigantic religious war that would make WWII look like a domestic disturbance. On the other hand, mankind finds a way to survive this massive destruction. It’s just not the way we expect.
Q – What inspires your writing?
A – It’s a combination of things. Ray Kurzweil’s The Singularity is Near was a tremendous influence, as well as The Matrix trilogy. Google’s huge effort to enhance human reach, longevity and consciousness is another major influence. I truly think this company is the key to the future of mankind. Ah, and one more thing: I don’t want to die.
Q – Does this Heaven exist in some sort of Google matrix?
A – I leave it to the reader to decide. The plot starts 100 years from now. Who knows what organizations will survive that far into the future?
Q – Who indeed? So, when can we expect the next book in the series?
A – It’s actually in the second draft, and will be edited soon. It’s much darker than this one.
