Hanna Instruments Iodine, 0.0 to 12.5 mg/L, DPD Method (100 Tests)

The Hanna Instruments 93718-01 iodine reagent, for use with the HI 96718 Iodine Portable Photometer, contains the proper dosage for 100 tests that measure iodine content using the DPD method in water samples in the 0 to 12.5 mg/L range. HI 93718-01 contains 100 odorless, white powder iodine reagent packets, for 100 tests.

A reaction between the reagent and iodine in a sample causes a distinct pink color to appear, which is measured by the photometer. The photometer uses an adaptation of the Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, 18th edition, DPD method.

Reagents are used in photometers to measure the light intensity of solutions or surfaces. The reagent is mixed with the sample and placed in the photometer, which then produces a reading. Reagents are commonly used in the water quality, agricultural, and horticultural industries to measure the amount of minerals and chemicals in water samples.

Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standards.
