Hanna Instruments HI8614N pH Transmitter with 4-20 mA Galvanically Isolated Output, 6-1/2" Length x 4-19/64" Width x 2-51/64" Height

The Hanna Instruments HI 8614N is a water-resistant two-wire pH transmitter for long distance measurement in industrial applications with manual or Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), manual calibration, a Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) socket, 4 to 20mA galvanically isolated output, and an Ingress Protection (IP) 65-rated housing. A pH transmitter is part of a larger system that monitors and analyzes the pH of a solution. The transmitter converts the pH of a solution into an electrical signal and then uses a communication interface to transmit the data to a control system or computer.

The HI 8614N is a water-resistant pH transmitter designed for use with a standard high impedance pH probe with a Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) connector. The transmitter has manual calibration with slope and offset trimmers on the bottom of the housing. The slope calibration range is 86 to 116 percent or 0.5mA. The offset can be calibrated to + or €“ 2 pH and + or €“ 2.2mA. The transmitter has ATC when a temperature probe (not included) is attached. If ATC is not required, a fixed resistor can be substituted for the temperature probe. The transmitter can be connected to Hanna controllers HI 8510, HI 8710, or HI 8711, recorders, computers, or any data monitoring device that accepts 4 to 20mA input. The input impedance is 10 E 12 Ohm and the maximum load is 500 Ohm. The power supply is 18-30VDC. The meter comes with instructions.

A pH meter, also called a sensor or tester, is a device used to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. A pH meter has either a portable or a benchtop body. Many portable meters are handheld devices. Some testers have an internal sensor, and may have a tip and body that fit inside of a container for measurement. A meter is commonly used in many different environments from laboratories to field research and manufacturing facilities. Researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists use a pH meter in aquaculture, agricultural, wine-making, and water-testing, and for scientific applications. Some pH meters may measure additional parameters such as dissolved oxygen (DO), conductivity (also called electro-conductivity or EC), temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS), salinity, resistivity, or oxygen reduction potential (ORP)/mV.

Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001.
