Hanna Instruments HI 991301N Waterproof pH/EC/TDS/Temperature Meter, High Range EC
The Hanna Instruments HI 991301N waterproof portable meter with flat-tip probe measures pH, high-range conductivity, and total dissolved solids (TDS) on a large LCD screen that displays the primary reading, temperature, and calibration guides for water testing applications in purified to brackish waters. The housing of this meter is rated to IP 67 level of protection against dust and short periods of immersion in water.
User-selectable features include TDS factors from 0.45 to 1.00 and temperature coefficients from 0.0 to 2.4 percent for increased consistency and reproducibility. Standardized buffer recognition values are also selectable. The Hold button freezes the reading on the display for manual recording. The on-screen tutorial messages explain how to select calibration buffers and temperature scale options.
The HI 1288 pre-amplified pH and electrical conductivity (EC) probe has an easy-to-clean sensor and cloth junction that can be pulled out further to increase probe life. It has a DIN (Deutsches Institut fr Normung) connector and 1.2-meter/3.93-foot cable that attaches at the bottom of the meter to stay out of the way.
The meter includes pH buffer calibration solution sachets, calibration solution, and electrode cleaning solution, as well as three 1.5V AAA batteries and a carrying case.

A multiparameter meter is a benchtop or handheld device that can take multiple readings on a single sample. It measures parameters such as the pH level (acidity or alkalinity of a substance), conductivity (the amount of salts or other compounds present in water), dissolved oxygen (DO, the amount of oxygen in a liquid), temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS, anything present in water other than the pure water molecule and suspended solids), salinity, resistivity, and oxidation reduction potential (ORP). Applications for multiparameter meters include water testing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, winemaking, water-treatment plants, and acquaculture. Devices with a benchtop body are often used for indoor laboratory use or in a manufacturing setting; handheld, portable devices are typically used for fieldwork. Sensors are used with a meter to measure the parameters of a substance.
Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standards.
