Hanna Instruments HI 93703C Portable Logging Turbidity Meter Kit
The Hanna Instruments HI 93703C is a portable microprocessor-based turbidity meter.
The meter has 3-point calibration (0, 10, and 500 FTU), uses an infrared LED as a light source, and automatically shuts off after five minutes of non-use. The device operates on four 1.5V AA batteries.
Turbidity range is 0.00 to 50.00 formazine turbidity unit (FTU) and 50 to 1000 FTU, + or - .5 FTU or 5% of reading, with a typical EMC deviation of + or – 2% FS. Dimensions are 220 x 82 x 66 mm (8.7 x 3.2 x 2.6"), with weight 510 g (1.1 lb.).
Turbidity meters measure the loss of transparency due to suspended particles present in a solution. They are commonly used to measure the turbidity of water in both the field and laboratory.
Hanna Instruments manufactures a wide variety of analytical instrumentation, including pH meters, multi-parameter meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. Founded in 1978, Hanna is headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, with subsidiaries in 32 countries. Hanna Instruments holds many firsts in the field of analytical instrumentation, including a pH electrode with a built-in temperature sensor, an electronic pocket-sized pH tester, and a replaceable electrode pH pocket tester. To assure the quality of its products, Hanna is a vertically integrated manufacturer and does not subcontract any part of its manufacturing.
