Hanna Instruments HI 718 Checker HC Handheld Colorimeter, For Iodine
The HI 718 is a portable, handheld meter for measuring iodine in natural, waste, recreation, and drinking waters.
The HI 718 bridges the gap between less accurate chemical test kits, and expensive professional test instrumentation. To use, zero the instrument with your water sample, then add the reagent. Place the vial into the checker, press the button and read the results within seconds.
The meter has a range of 00.0 to 12.5 ppm (mg/L) + or - 5% of the reading (+ or - 0.1 ppm (mg/L), with resolution 0.1 ppm (mg/L). It operates in temperatures from 0 to 50 degrees C (32 to 122 degrees F)/RH max 95%. The device operates on one 1.5V AAA battery, with an auto-off function that shuts off the device after two minutes of non-use. Dimensions are 81.5 x 61 x 37.5 mm (3.2 x 2.4 x 1.5â€) and it weighs 64 g (2.25 oz.).
Iodine is a disinfectant used in water, and ensuring proper levels is important in many situations. Iodine meters are used for monitoring quality control in many applications such as swimming pools, sanitation, agriculture and drinking water.
