Hanna Instruments BL931700-1 pH Mini Controller with 4 - 20mA Recorder Output, 0 - 14 pH, 115/230VAC, 50/60 Hz, 0.01 pH

The Hanna Instruments BL 931700-1 is a selectable setpoint pH controller used for industrial process control, and has manual calibration, a single-line LCD screen, automatic dosing, and analog output. A pH controller is used in industrial control systems to calculate the difference between measured pH and a desired setpoint. The controller then adjusts the pH as needed using process control inputs. The single-line, multicolor LCD of this controller indicates one of three meter conditions: measurement, dosing, or alarm. A switch on the front panel controls automatic or manual dosing. Manual control is useful during maintenance operations to enable or disable the dosing relay as needed. A selectable setpoint between 0.00 and 14.00 pH provides acid or alkaline dosage. The adjustable overtime control system indicates when the relay is active for too long to help prevent overdosing. The meter has manual two-point calibration with offset and slope trimmers on the front panel. A BNC socket is used for input from pH electrodes. The meter has 4 to 20mA output. The input impedance is 10 E 12 Ohm. The power supply is 115/230VAC. The BL 931700-1 controller comes with mounting brackets, a transparent splash cover, and instructions.

A pH meter, also called a sensor or tester, is a device used to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. A pH meter has either a portable or a benchtop body. Many portable meters are handheld devices. Some testers have an internal sensor, and may have a tip and body that fit inside of a container for measurement. A meter is commonly used in many different environments from laboratories to field research and manufacturing facilities. Researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists use a pH meter in aquaculture, agricultural, wine-making, and water-testing, and for scientific applications. Some pH meters may measure additional parameters such as dissolved oxygen (DO), conductivity (also called electro-conductivity or EC), temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS), salinity, resistivity, or oxygen reduction potential (ORP)/mV.

Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001.
