Hanna Instruments Aluminum, 0.00 to 1.00 mg/L, Aluminon Method (100 Tests)
The Hanna Instruments 93712-01 aluminum reagent, for use with the HI 96712 Aluminum Portable Photometer, contains the proper dosage for 100 tests that measure the aluminum content using the aluminon method in water samples in the 0.00 to 1.00 mg/L range. HI 93712-01 contains 100 packets of each of the two reagents required for the two-step process; one is an odorless, white powder and the other is an odorless, red powder.
A reaction between the reagents and aluminum in a sample causes a distinct red color to appear, which is measured by the photometer. The photometer uses an adaptation of the aluminon method.
Reagents are used in photometers to measure the light intensity of solutions or surfaces. The reagent is mixed with the sample and placed in the photometer, which then produces a reading. Reagents are commonly used in the water quality, agricultural, and horticultural industries to measure the amount of minerals and chemicals in water samples.
Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standards.
