It has a horse painting known as gHashiri Gomah. To enjoy the texture of sand, it includes some iron sand with traditional clay.
"Matsunaga Ceramics Shop was established as a wholesale store in 1910, in Ide, Namie-cho, Fukushima Prefecture. Since WW2, the store has gained the affection of people inside and outside the prefecture and also overseas, manufacturing and retailing for over a century. After the earthquake, the company relocated its kiln to Nishigomura. While preserving tradition, it will continue to create the next 100 years' culture and history."

1 Illustration of a Horse The ""Goshin Horse"" of the Soma Clan is depicted, also known as the ""Left Horse,"" meaning ""it is second to none."" It is known as a sign of good luck in the area. The painting technique used is called ""Hashiri Goma,"" and known as the Kano style. This hand-drawn Goshin Horse of the Soma Clan shows the illustrator's high skill.
2 Cracks Along with the sound of penetration, a pattern of cracks known as ""Blue Cracks"" is spread across the entire work. The beautiful penetration sound, chosen as one of the ""Sounds of Utsukushima 30 Scenes"" Because of the different contraction rates between the material and glaze, the pottery develops find cracks across the surface, along with delicate sounds. This is called penetration. This is how the Soma ware are engraved with the pattern called ""Blue Cracks.""
3 Double Baking A structure called ""Double Baking."" It allows for hot water to stay hot, but to hold the pot without getting burned. This technique is unique to Soma ware and is very rare. Originally, Soma ware was used in daily life by the common people, and it is said that this technique was born through trial and error to make the containers more useful.
